As of 17 December 2023, Legislative Decree No. 24/2023 is fully in force, transposing EU Directive 2019/1937 on whistleblowing.
The new regulation has harmonized and updated the national legal framework, extending and strengthening protections for those who report unlawful conduct or irregularities encountered in the workplace.
Who does it apply to?
The decree applies to:
- Private companies with at least 50 employees (or fewer, if they adopt a 231 Organizational Model or operate in specific sectors);
- Public companies and state-owned enterprises.
